Description You are invited to participate in the second International Conference on Qualitative Research in IT & IT in Qualitative Research, which will be held at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia on November 23-25, 2005. QualIT2005 – Challenges for Qualitative Research will attract qualitative researchers concerned with the analysis, design, development, application, usability and evaluation of information systems and information technologies.

Research papers are invited in the areas of information technology, information systems, software engineering, business, social and health informatics. Papers in the above areas which critique and evaluate qualitative research software, and on new and innovative methods in qualitative research are particularly welcome. Specific tracks include (but are not limited to):

Human Computer Interaction
Socio technical aspects of IT
IS Implementation
Software engineering
Knowledge management
Enterprise Resource Planning
Emerging technologies
Usability & User Centred Design
Gender issues in IT
E-health
Innovative qualitative studies
Strategic use of qualitative software tools
Methodological issues in qualitative research
The role, use and challenges of qualitative software tools in any of the above areas.

Researchers are also invited to propose a discussion panel.
Papers are sought from researchers carrying out qualitative research employing methods such as: action research, case studies, ethnography, grounded theory within the disciplines of IT and IS, and using software tools expressly for the qualitative researcher.
Additional Information Paper Submission and Registration: Full papers will be peer-reviewed (E1 Standard) by national and/or international experts. The proceedings will be published with an ISBN number and will be made available to attendees and non-attendees. Submissions will be submitted online. Registration (includes dinner):Early-bird – AUD$380, After early-bird - AUD$480, Student – AUD$280
