Conference Significance:
Helping Africa attract foreign direct investment and implement policies conducive to economic growth is central to the NEPAD goal of mobilizing resources for poverty reduction and development. While a comprehensive effort is required to stimulate economic activity in all productive sectors, strategies to attract foreign direct investment are critical to ensure high economic growth in Africa.

Conference Scope:
Potential investors from Africa and the rest of the world, as well as African leaders will endeavour to provide a framework for the development of trade and investment in Africa. The specific focus will be attracting foreign direct investment, implementing policies conducive to economic growth, and improving the quality of support for trade-related technical assistance and capacity-building in Africa.
