The IEE Professional Networks and Power Seminars would like to offer you another opportunity to attend these one-day courses on Essentials of Contract Law for Technical Experts and Commercial Awareness. The courses are set back-to-back allowing you or your employees to attend both days or register for the day that suits you.
The success of the first three sessions in its series of Contract Law and Commercial Awareness training has persuaded the IEE to offer the courses again at Austin Court, Birmingham, on 3 and 4 November. The courses are run back to back and provide a clear and highly interactive insight into contract law and commercial issues under the guidance of two highly qualified and skilled trainers, Graham Fuller and Rob Maguire each capable of making the topic interesting without subjecting the audience to death by PowerPoint.

Day 1 - Essentials of Contract Law for Technical Experts
Procurement is often a team effort. Major procurement projects are not handled by buyers alone, but require input from a range of specialists, including engineers, scientists, project managers and other professionals. This seminar has been designed to help those technical experts understand the fundamentals of contract law and enable them to make a positive contribution to the procurement process. Day 2 - Commercial Awareness
Commercial awareness is fundamental to business success. Commercial acumen comes from a sound understanding of commerce: the buying and selling of goods and services and the factors that influence success. By appreciating the processes, relationships, risks and costs involved in commercial transactions it is possible to assess whether value for money has been achieved. Commercial awareness is not the domain of the procurement, contracts or other commercial function. It is the means by which all individuals throughout an organisation operate to minimise exposure to risk while achieving corporate objectives. More information..
