| Description |
The complexities of modern warfare are greater than ever. The increasing need to maintain surveillance on any number of simultaneous participants in a modern battle coupled with the ever-increasing risk of confusing friendly forces with the enemy reinforces the need for Airborne Early Warning and Control Systems. These systems will continue to comprise a unique and critical component of modern battlespace management. The increasing needs for these systems have also triggered an evolution in existing system integration including military satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles and encrypted networks. Aside from the military, the growing demand for additional surveillance over domestic territory, contributing to the vigilant watch against terrorism, is on the rise. These systems need to be capable of providing prolonged, persistent surveillance over domestic fronts, in the ongoing fight against terrorism. As such, they are forcing some innovative technological solutions, including fuel cell development, solar and alternative power sources, and encrypted communications. AEW&C systems are one of the best weapons in ensuring superior battlespace control.
