Description
Health IT Certification provides professional training and certification for those responsible for planning, selecting, implementing, and managing electronic health records (EHR) and other health information technology (HIT). A distinguished advisory panel and faculty have pooled their experience to create a training program that is practical, offering tools that directly relate to on-the-job needs. The certification process has been developed by a team of both knowledgeable experts as well those with a background in psychometrics to ensure that the certification process is valid and role-based. Exam items test at the application, synthesis and evaluation levels through case studies and scenarios. Any one who believes they are competent in the common body of knowledge for the CPEHR or CPHIT may register to write an exam, either at one of the on-site training program seminars or online.
The designation of Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR) indicates that the holder has evidenced a high level of expertise in the planning, implementation and operation of EHR systems and has mastered the common body of knowledge for an electronic health records professional.
The designation of Certified Professional in Health Information Technology (CPHIT) indicates that the holder has mastered the common body of knowledge for an electronic health records professional and, in addition, has evidenced expertise in a variety of health information technology applications, including CPOE and electronic prescribing.
