Digital Learning Asia 2006 will take stock of the progress of the Asian countries in utilizing Information and Communication Technologies to enhance the quality and reach of education with a focus on building a human capital that responds to the needs of a globalised world. The conference will provide a platform for policymakers, practitioners, industry leaders and academicians to share experience, knowledge and perspective on integrating technologies in all level of education as well as introducing technology education at all level. The conference will provide a forum for showcasing and learning from best practices, explore solutions to meet challenges and discuss issues and strategies for best utilizing the potential of ICT in education
Some of the themes of consultations in the conference include (among others):

The conference is also backed by three leading ICT magazines in India, i4d (The first monthly magazine on ICT4D), egov (The first monthly magazine on e-government in Asia) and Digital Learning (the monthly magazine on ICT and Education).
Key leading Ministries and Departments of the Governments of various countries are being invited to join as partners. The conference assumes immense importance with the commitment of the South East Asian Ministers of Education Organisation, SEAMEO (www.seameo.org) and Asia e-learning Network, AEN (www.asia-elearning.net), Software Industry Promotion Agency, SIPA (www.sipa.or.th ), UNDP APDIP (www.apdip.net ) as supporting organisations. We hope to be able to advocate and bring the recommendations of this conference at the highest level of decision-making.
The conference has already received an overwhelming support and response from Chulalongkorn University at Bangkok (Thailand), National University of Singapore (NUS), (Singapore), University of Malaya (Malaysia), National Computerization Agency, Govt. of Korea; EPFL, Switzerland, Govt. of Egypt, The Danish Technological Institute (Denmark),Universiti Teknologi Mara (Malaysia).
The conference will include panel discussions, presentation sessions and workshops. We welcome papers from practitioners and experts, in the various sessions of the conference. We also welcome proposals of workshop and group consultations.
