This two-day conference is an opportunity for academics and practitioners from across a range of disciplines to reflect on how to theorise children and young peoples’ engagements with material and visual cultures, particularly in urban contexts. The conference is organised around the following themes:

· Design of material culture.
· Visual representations and social identity.
· Visual methods in social policy practice.
