The Southern Association of Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (SAAESD), Northeastern Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (NERA) and Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) are pleased to host a two-day workshop on grant writing.

The September 6th Grantsmanship Workshop focuses on CSREES-USDA Funding Opportunities, with an emphasis on the National Research Initiative Competitive Grants Program (NRICGP), Higher Education, Multicultural Alliances and International Programs, Integrated Research, Education and Extension Programs, Children Youth and Families At Risk Program,Pest Management Alternatives Program (PMAP), and Small Business Innovation Research Programs (SBIR). The September 7th Writing Winning Grants Workshop focuses on how to navigate the grant writing process. Participants will be walked through the process of developing a successful grant submission, how to participate in the review process, proposal organization, the development of integrated team proposals and what pitfalls to avoid.

The workshops will be held September 6-7, 2006 at the Renaissance Hotel, Washington, DC as part of a two-day series offered by the USDA, NERA and SAAESD. When taken together, participants gain a complete understanding of the grant writing process.

The workshop is designed for an audience of researchers, extension specialists, educators and administrators. CSREES staff responsible for the administration of the various programs will make presentations.
