“Mr Lekota said the longstanding partnership between South Africa and Belgium was aimed at further developing the agreement to continue military cooperation for an environment conducive to democracy, progress and development across the African continent” Mr Mosiuoa Gerard Patrick Lekota, Minister Of Defence, Department of Defence, South Africa, 28 February 2006

The International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC) is proud to announce the launch of Joint Operations Africa 2006, a two day conference, which coincides with the highly popular Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibition (AAD). This collaboration, the result of an agreement between IQPC and the AAD, was extablished to provide the international commercial and military community with a conference that will provide delegates with solutions to the challenges currently experiences in land, air and maritime operations.

This conference will focus on the cooperation and integration of military (including naval, air and military forces) and non-military (civilians, private sector, non-governmental organisations and parliamentary bodies), strategies and capabilities.

As you probably know the AAD Exhibition and Air Show will take place this year 20-24 September at AFB Ysterplaat in Cape Town. It is Africa’s showcase event for general and commercial aviation, aerospace and military land, sea and air technologies and services. The AAD Air Show and Exhibition is hosted in partnership with ARMSCOR (Armaments Corporation of South Africa), CAASA (Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa), The South African Air Force (SAAF) and AMD (South African Aerospace Maritime and Defence Industries Association).

IQPC’s Joint Operations Africa Conference will bring together representatives of governments, and the military from all the continents and international and non-governmental organisations. The conference will provide an opportunity for detailed discussion of past and present joint operations and coherent integration in Africa.
