There are tremendous business and investment opportunities in Asia's growing life sciences sector. Singapore has already established itself as a serious player, committing more than eight billion dollars over the next 5 years to strengthen its R&D capabilities, of which the biomedical sciences sector is a key area of focus. These efforts have attracted major players such as GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Philips to set up or expand their research-based operations in Singapore. Taiwan on the other hand, is driving the growth of the sector through inward investment as well as nurturing its vibrant and enterprising private sector. According to government sources, there are almost 240 indigenous biotech and related companies in Taiwan with a combined annual turnover of more than four billion dollars. Whether you are a VC, a biotech company or a supplier to biotech companies, Asia has much to offer.

To succeed, you must have timely, accurate, first hand information and more importantly, you must establish strong linkages with relevant local industry players. At DN Venture Partners, we have designed the Asia Biotech Business Mission 2006 specifically with these objectives in mind -- to help you gain insights into the biotech sector and link you up with key players in Asia. Our aim is to provide you with a cost and time effective way for you to quickly acquire the necessary market information and contacts needed to establish new partnerships and new businesses in Asia.

Participants of last year's mission met with Thailand's former Minister of Science and Technology and also linked up with the CEOs, Directors and Deputy Directors of major biotech-related organisations in Asia including:
