Patients continue to arrive at the emergency room in greater numbers and with illnesses of more acute severity than ever before. Radiologists and emergency physicians must be knowledgeable about all organ systems and imaging modalities in order to provide optimal patient care. The imaging work-up has become much more sophisticated, and physicians need to be continuously updated on the latest imaging studies and modalities. Furthermore, responses from previous symposia attendees indicate that physicians will continue to attend this annual symposium, and that they want to receive additional updates in medical advances of emergency radiology that include the more “common” uses of CT and MRI, trauma imaging, case presentations, emergency department exams, as well as other updates of interest to radiologists.
