8th National Conference on Preventing Crime: Helping Build Safer Communities. The conference will be held on October 3-5, 2007, at the Hilton Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia, and we expect between 800 and 1,200 attendees. The conference website is www.ncpc.org/NationalConference2007 and is brought to you by the National Crime Prevention Council and the Crime Prevention Coalition of America, and partially funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
The conference will feature more than 60 workshops in the areas of:
• Protecting Children and Youth
• Partnering with Government and Law Enforcement to Prevent Crime
• Responding to Emerging Crime Trends
• Promoting Crime Prevention and Personal Safety Basics
• Leadership in Crime Prevention
• Crime Prevention for Business
The call for presentations is in progress and all abstracts should be submitted online by October 2, 2006.
The conference will also feature three keynote addresses, at least 50 to 75 exhibits in the Hall of Discovery, as well as, a President’s Reception at a special venue to be determined. There will also be a full pre-conference day on October 2, 2007, that includes the McGruff® Invitational golf tournament, at least four Professional Development Institutes, the McGruff® Convention, and State Leaders’ Forum.

Who Should Attend?
The offerings of the conference attract crime prevention officers, law enforcement, criminal justice specialists, loss prevention specialists, community leaders, youth leaders, military, federal, state, and local government officials, nonprofit organizations, educators, and social service providers.
