Every era in human civilization has been highlighted by technological benchmarks. Emanating from this belief, Infocom initiated its tryst with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in December 2002, to represent the changing face of the Indian IT industry and also a whole gamut of emerging opportunities that lie untapped and unexplored.
Organized by India’s leading business magazine- Businessworld and India’s most respected IT body - NASSCOM, in Calcutta, it is the largest congregation of IT specialists, key policymakers and industry leaders. Its purpose is to integrate the disparate hardware, software and telecom segments into a unified platform that covers ICT at a broader level.

Infocom 2006 will bring together the biggest names from the ICT industry in India and overseas, top corporates, government officials, academia and thought leaders, to identify and provide ideas and thoughts required for an innovative ecosystem which is essential for expanding ICT penetration in the developing countries. This effort will be followed up through a series of well-designed seminars and panel discussions by industry experts, investors, government and user communities through 25 sessions over a period of 4 days across 2 parallel tracks. This is the first ICT exposition of its kind in the country that prides itself in providing a cohesive ecosystem to support entrepreneurship and help move great innovative ideas from concept to reality.
