The conference programme will look at the key issues and challenges that need to be addressed in achieving sustainable development (social, environmental, and economic ) at major airports and in the regions surrounding them.

The programme includes examples of best practice, including a number of international airport industry case studies on Duesseldorf's planned 'Airport City', Barcelona's 'Spatial City' and developments at Gatwick and Munich and many other expert presenters to provide a thorough examination of the path towards sustainability. Our hosts in Dublin will take this unique opportunity to present a fresh, update on the progress at Dublin Airport, in the light of the extensive Capital Investment / Development Programme.

There is a particular focus on how this will impact the long-term development and international competitiveness of airports and their surrounding environs. The event will provide an excellent opportunity for all interested parties to express their views and discuss the key challenges and opportunities. The importance of this conference is highlighted by the presence of aviation industry leaders, business, community representatives, political, policy / planning, transport specialists and airport users within the speaker programme.
