Description
Communicating for Personal & Professional Success
September 9, 2006
We are all products of our personality, and how we are perceived, communicate, and handle conflict are all influenced by it. Oftentimes when we perceive someone as being difficult or have a difficult time resolving conflict, it’s simply that the individuals are communicating according to their own personality type. Understanding the preferences of various personality types is an effective way to not only be more aware of your own preferences, but can improve your overall effectiveness by changing the way you communicate with others.
Learning Objectives:
During this workshop participants will:
1. Evaluate individual personality types and preferences.
2. Examine how they interact with others based on personality types.
3. Explore communication styles and basic communication tools.
4. Learn how Ground Rules can help them communicate more effectively.
5. Examine how to improve communication to appeal to all personality types.
6. Assess individual conflict management styles.
7. Learn how personality type influences conflict management
