The Virginia Institute for Economic Development (VIED) is cosponsored by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (VDBA), the Virginia Economic Developers Association (VEDA) and Virginia Tech. This is the recommended training course for state government, local government, economic development agencies and Chamber of Commerce employees who desire to develop their skills in the practice of economic development in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Speakers and presenters will discuss tourism, international trade, the changing economy, development strategies as well as traditional economic development. The course is uniquely tailored to Virginia and the various programs available through Virginia state agencies. It is a must attend for people serious about economic development in Virginia. The registration fee of $529 includes lunch and break services each day, a reception and dinner on November 13, and all workshop materials.
