Description
With Slovenia having joined the EU and other Southern European countries hoping to become the next accession states, railways in the former Balkan countries are now undergoing massive redevelopment processes in all aspects of Infrastructure and Rolling Stock. A large proportion of the investment focuses around Trans European Corridor X and the adjoining networks. Corridor X is a major freight corridor between Europe, Mediterranean ports, the Middle East and Asia. Interoperability along this axis is important for the profitability of all the rail companies along the corridor.Rail Investment South East Europe 2007 will bring together the senior figures from the region with a particular focus on Serbia as the largest operator / infrastructure in South East Europe.
