Description

Recent advances in computer aided design, digital imaging, software engineering; material science and fabrication technologies have significantly impacted the design, simulation and manufacturing aspects of tissue engineering. The proposed workshop highlights the emerging trends of this multi-disciplinary domain with major thrust on computer-aided tissue modeling and scaffold fabrication. Presentations and panel discussions of the proposed workshop would be so conducted as to elicit the interest of the participating Indo US researchers, specifically in the areas of biomodeling, tissue-informatics, biomimetic design, biomaterials and biofabrication. This workshop is purported to seed and catalyse bilateral collaborations specifically in the following areas -

Stereolithography based scaffold construction

Fused deposition modeling of bioceramics

Characterization of scaffold structures

Customised software solutions for tissue modeling

Among the numerous envisaged benefits of this workshop, the most prominent is the formulation of a centre for Computer Aided Tissue Engineering (CATE) through mutual sharing of the domain knowledge. Proceedings of the workshop would address the relevant factors such as institute-level exchange programmes, physical or virtual sharing of infrastructure, synergic research pursuits and compatibility with the science and technology policies of the respective governments, and then pave a way for closer interaction among the academia, research institutes and industries of both the countries for improving the quality of research in scaffold based tissue engineering.

Key benefits of attending :
Learning about the state of the art in bio-modeling and customised implant development

Delineating the applications of Rapid Prototyping for Scaffold based Tissue Engineering

Facilitating International Collaborations and Research programmes in Bio-materials and Bio-modeling Domains

Learn from leading experts through case studies
