Fourth International Conference
Port Development and Coastal Environment
PDCE’2007 Varna Bulgaria
INVITATION TO PDCE 2007 IN VARNA
The Local Organizing Committee of PDCE 2007, the International Scientific Advisory Board, and the Black Sea Coastal Association welcome you to attend the 4th International Conference on Port Development & Coastal Environment, which will be held in Varna, Bulgaria, from September 25 through 28, 2007. PDCE 2007 will continue the successful conference series held in Varna in 1997, 2000, and 2003, as an important multidisciplinary international
forum on port and coastal engineering, environmental protection, and related sciences. Anyone concerned with ports, coasts and environmental protection are invited to participate and contribute. On behalf of the organisers, we welcome you to PDCE 2007 and look forward to seeing you in Varna, Bulgaria in September 2007.
CONFERENCE LOCATION
Varna is situated at the Black Sea coast in the eastern part of Bulgaria. This is a city full of character and history. Varna combines the commercial activities of an industrial port and a number of maritime enterprises and institutions with the leisure activities associated to its well-preserved sand beaches.
The conference will be held in one of the top-level hotels at the
seaside resort area near Varna, which provides first class venues for bringing together scientists, engineers and decision makers from around the world to share and discuss related research, design, construction, and maintenance issues. The neighboring resort "St. St. Constantine and Helena" is widely considered as one of the most beautiful seaside resorts at the Black Sea coast due to its tranquility, mild climate, sun, fresh air and clear sea water. The air temperature at the end of September ranges within 20°-25° C.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Papers are invited on the topics indicated and others falling within the scope of the Conference. Two copies of an abstract of no more than 300 words, clearly stating the purpose, results and conclusion of the work should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat no later than 16 December 2006 for review. The most relevant conference theme should be indicated on the Preliminary Registration Form. Final acceptance will be based upon review of the full-length paper, which must be received no later than 31 May 2007.
CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
The proceedings of the Conference will be published in book form and will be available to delegates during the Conference. In addition the proceedings will be widely distributed after the Conference to organisations and institutions concerned with port, coastal and environment issues.
