The Technical Committee of the 13th International Conference is changing the way this prestigious event is structured for their 2007 Conference.

As corporate structures change, two distinct groups of specialists charged by their organisations to provide expertise on a wide range of technical problems associated with Multiphase Production Technology have emerged.

Many of the first group are technical specialists, who have worked for more than twenty years in this field and have amassed considerable knowledge and experience. The industry looks to these people to keep the technology developing through the adoption of novel operational solutions and innovative techniques based upon sound knowledge and experience. The papers, presentations and networking that have come over the years from this series of conferences have built upon this reservoir of practical and analytical capabilities.

The second grouping is different. Into the industry have come many young engineers, trained in the very latest techniques and eager to contribute to technology development. Without the years of experience, they need to understand quickly and effectively what is the current state of the art in key areas of the technology. What can be done now? Who are the leaders in each area? Where can I go to learn this knowledge? are just some of the questions which have been posed and which the Committee hope to answer at this Conference.

The conference is therefore being structured into themes that will be introduced by one or more Review Papers describing aspects of: ¡§Today¡¦s Technology¡¨. These will be followed by the traditional accepted technical papers that feature new developments, new applications and hitherto unpublished work: ¡§Tomorrow¡¦s Technology¡¨. Finally, throughout the Conference, delegates will be invited to post their views on a notice board as a contribution to the debate on the technology gaps and the needs for the future: ¡§Next Week¡¦s Technology¡¨. These will be discussed during the Closing Technology Review.

Who Should Attend

Multiphase Production Technology 2007 will benefit those engaged in the application, development and research of multiphase technology for the oil and gas industry.

Applications in the oil and gas industry will also be of interest to engineers from other industries, for whom multiphase technology offers a novel solution to their problems.

The conference will also be of particular value to designers, facility and operations engineers, consultants and researchers from operating, contracting, consultancy and technology companies.

Offers of Papers

Authors are invited to submit title and abstract within the scope of the Conference, to reach the Conference Organiser by 4 September 2006. The abstract must be relevant to the scope, and the title should briefly describe the content of the paper. Abstracts may be submitted by email to conforg5@bhrgroup.com

Selection of papers will take account of originality, relevance and likely interest to delegates. Predominantly theoretical papers are normally expected to include experimental or other practical validation, especially field validation. ¡§Sales pitches¡¨ are not acceptable papers. Papers should be of a technical nature and we recommend that authors also take an exhibition stand should they wish to support their presentations with commercial material.

Important ¡V Authors Please Note

„h Papers must be original, unpublished, and not pending publication elsewhere.
„h The author submits each paper on the understanding that the paper must be reviewed and approved by an independent referee. If the paper is accepted, the author must attend the whole Conference to present the paper and discuss with delegates. Each presenting author is entitled to 25% discount on the full Conference fee.
„h Papers, and presentation at the Conference, must be in English.
„h Papers should be no longer than 15 printed pages. There is no minimum length
„h The title should be appropriate to the scope and should accurately describe the content of the paper.
„h Guidelines for the preparation of manuscripts and / or posters will be supplied by BHR Group. Papers conforming to these guidelines will, subject to final refereeing, be accepted for commercial publication.
„h The copyright of accepted papers must be transferred to the Publisher. Authors who wish to retain copyright must notify the organisers when submitting their abstracts.
„h The presenting author will receive one copy of the published proceedings
