This conference highlights the victimization of women in our society and serves to improve the response of the criminal justice system to these victims. The Dallas Police Department and Genesis Women’s Shelter have partnered to sponsor this conference to provide education and training to law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim’s advocates working in all areas of violence against women.

Conference Featured Case Studies:
Baton Rouge Serial Killer-
Derrick Todd Lee was a husband and father of two. He was also responsible for the deaths of at least 7 women in the Baton Rouge area. Professionals will show how Lee defied FBI profiles, was eventually identified, caught and brought to justice.

The Anita Wooldridge Case: Anita Wooldridge was a 21 year old woman who was abducted and sexually assaulted for seven days by a sexual predator. The investigator on her case, a former FBI profiler, along with the victim witness coordinator and Anita herself will explain how the police were able to find Anita and save her life.

Other topics include: Investigation and Prosecution of Serial Rapists, Effective Courtroom Testimony in Domestic Violence Cases, Killing Her Children - The Ultimate Act of Domestic Violence. Plus: interesting exhibits, innovative new police technology and other valuable resources.
