It is proposed to offer three keynote addresses and select eight papers for presentation over two days. The keynote speakers are Professor Thomas E. Hill, University of North Carolina;
Paper Title, “Lies, Insults, and Harm: Legislating Principles for Real world Problems";Professor Adrian W. Moore Professor of Philosophy, Oxford University
Paper Title, “What is a Maxim?”; and Associate Professor Jeannine Grenberg, St Olaf College, Minnesota;Paper Title: “The Social Dimensions of Courageous Humility in Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park”.

The conference is open to all. It is also designed to promote the attendance of students, young academics and members of the Workers Education Association, and the unwaged by offering a reduced fee that will partially cover their costs.

The conference is non-profit making and the sponsorship we are seeking is to enable us to bring two prominent overseas Kantian philosophers to be key speakers at the conference, as well as to fund the attendance of an UK speaker, and young academics.
