Warm greetings from the Asian Academy of Management (AAM)! It is scheduled to take place in Penang Island, Malaysia, from 21-25 May, 2007, at the School of Management, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

On behalf of the AAM organizing committee team, it is our pleasure to invite all papers that are related to the AAMC 2007 conference theme: "Reimagining Management in an Era of Multiple Crises: Success and Sustainability of Businesses in Dynamic Asia".

Personally, we would like to invite academics, researchers, business consultants, corporate managers and executives, representatives of government, civil societies, and non-government organizations (NGOs), and any other interested individuals to participate. This 7th AAM conference follows the two established traditions set by the previous six AAM conferences, since AAM was founded in 1994: 1) facilitating sharing of experiences and ideas regarding new and innovative approaches with regards to a particular conference theme, and 2) creating a conducive atmosphere for collaborative network to take place. Jointly organized with the School of Management, AAMC 2007 offers something special to you for three main reasons.

First, the theme on 'Reimagining Management' opens up a refreshing opportunity for both scholars and professionals from the civil and corporate sectors, as well as those from the Asian and non-Asian countries, to dwell on the implications of multiple crises--environmental, political, social, and governance--on business transformations in Asia. We urge you to take this opportunity to reinvigorate the 'management' discipline by challenging current assumptions and management psyche, business theories, paradigms of thinking, outdated business practices and governance, and research methodologies which do not ensure success and sustainability of Asian businesses today and into the future. Second, the beautiful Penang Island has been selected as the location for the conference. This island offers cultural as well as natural heritage which should not be missed. We invite you to experience the beautiful Penang sights in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007, while engaging in scholarly debates within an established Business School and a university known for its signature as 'University in a Garden'.

Last but not least, AAMC 2007 is scheduled in conjunction with the AGBA Conference 2007, at the School of Management, thus allowing participants to gain the benefits of both conferences in one location. We look forward to receiving your submissions and we assure you of our commitment to arrange a conference that would be of a worthwhile benefit for you. Together, let's make this conference a memorable one. Till we meet in Penang, May 2007, our very best wishes to you!
