Venue Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry,
Description The Symposium will focus on the relationship between local, nano-scale information obtained from modern imaging and spectroscopic techniques and global information obtained from regular electrodes by more popular and overall averaging techniques. During the Symposium, active discussions of the static and dynamic results concerning electrochemical interfaces, especially in the context of fuel cell catalysis, are expected. Both experimental and theoretical aspects will be explored. A broad range of systems will be covered, including single crystal and polycrystalline metals, alloy electrodes and electrode surfaces modified with molecular monolayers, as well as metal oxide surfaces. We will interrogate structures and properties of nanoparticles and nanostructures for sensors, catalysis and energy conversion, and will interrogate the growth mechanisms of thin films.
Leading international scientists were invited to give plenary and invited lectures, and contributing participants will present their new results at the Symposium poster sessions.
Papers on new developments in the scanning probe microscopies (AFM, STM and STS) and other physical methods to study electrochemical interfaces are solicited. Nanomaterials will primarily be studied, as they already play a key role in modern science and technology. We therefore offer an interdisciplinary forum for scientists engaged in the full spectrum of surface, materials and electrochemistry research, to discuss the current status and recent developments of both the advanced electrode materials and techniques of their characterization.
Additional Information We offer a high scientific level of the Symposium, as the plenary and invited lectures will be given by the leading scientists from Europe and USA (see, the Program on the Web-Page). The Symposium is to be held in the Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry of Polish Academy of Sciences, in Krakow, in the new building. The Institute has got the grade of "European Centre of Excellence" and several notable international scientific conferences have been successfully performed here, during the last few years. Furthermore, we offer a very low the Symposium' Fee with 50% discount for Ph.D. Students
