The 6th Annual Forensic Science and Law Conference

JUSTICE FOR ALL
A National Symposium on the Role of Forensic Science in the Evolution of Criminal Justice Reform in the United States

One and a half years following enactment of the historic Justice for All Act, the Wecht Institute’s sixth annual conference will explore the sweeping impact of forensic scientific advances on criminal justice reform in the United States. Like the Justice for All Act itself, this conference is expected to bring together all those with a vested interest in the truth-seeking function of the criminal justice system.

Objectives
The educational objectives of this conference are:

To enable participants to gain or deepen their awareness of timely and important topics in criminal justice reform and to foster informed debate and a flow of information among experts, laypeople, policymakers, advocates and others with a vested interest in the truth-seeking function of the criminal justice system in this country;
To examine and address various legal, scientific, ethical, and political factors that weigh upon policy considerations related to forensic science and criminal justice reform;
To analyze and review the history, limitations and future of forensic science in the advancement of criminal justice reform, and to present models for moving forward.

Audiences
Among those expected to benefit from this symposium are:

Prosecutors
Criminal defense attorneys
Members of the judiciary
