Introduction:
Chemistry department is one of the main Departments in Sebha University. It has been established in 1984. The Department of Chemistry is an active centre for teaching and research, well-regarded in Libya. Research in the Department spans a range of fields including the traditional subdivisions of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry, as well as interdisciplinary areas such as biochemistry, materials science and industrial chemistry.
Recently the Department is taking its responsibilities in collaboration with some different organizations to minimize the impacts of environmental pollution.
Objectives:
The Chemistry Department is pleased to organize its first international conference on "Recent Developments in Chemistry and their Applications" RDCA-01
The main aim of this coming conference is to offer a unique opportunity for the chemists to come together to establish and develop scientific contacts between scientists from allover the world.
The recent progress and achievements in the different aspects of chemistry will be highlighted. The issue of environmental pollution due to antiseptics, chemical residue from fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides, heavy metals, food additives and several other parameters is addressed, as well as industrial wastes chemistry. For our young generation, we devoted one part of this meeting to discuss how to improve the teaching of chemistry on both graduate and undergraduate levels.
Conference Topics
The main topics of the conference are the following:
· Recent advances and developments in typical branches of Chemistry (i.e. Analytical, Organic, Inorganic, Physical and Industrial Chemistry).
· Research activities on underground water pollution (Chemical residue from fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides, heavy metals, etc.) and food contamination with harmful additives used as preservatives, flavor and colorants.
· Chemistry Methodology and modern technical approaches.
Invitation:
All national and international scientists are cordially invited to participate in the conference activities on "Recent Developments in Chemistry and their Applications" RDCA-01, to be held at Sebha University - Sebha – Libya, 14th-16th Nov. 2006.
Your contribution either oral presentations or posters is appreciated. You are warmly invited to have enjoyable time with us not only for science but also to discover the beauty of the Libyan Sahara.
Registration Fee and Accommodation:
For all participants, the registration fee and accommodation (single and double rooms) including the meals are FREE. Regarding to the accompany person, the charge will be 50 LD (1 € ≈ 1.62 LD) per night including their meals. Please indicate us in advance to book your accompany room.
