COURSE OBJECTIVES
After participating in this course, the attendee should be able to:
• Recognize the 2005 ACC/AHA Guidelines for Heart Failure Management;
• Demonstrate a practical understanding of the diagnosis and management of HF in the outpatient setting;
• Explain the role of devices in the care and treatment of heart failure patients;
• Review device therapy to improve heart function and prevent sudden death;
• Discuss the role of medical and catheter based therapy for atrial arrhythmias; and
• Evaluate inpatient therapy for heart failure.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Cardiologists, primary care physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with an interest in heart failure and arrhythmia therapy.
