| Description |
The Men’s Advisory Network, Western Australia’s peak men’s organisation, has organised an inaugural Australian National Conference in 2006.
The conference is the culmination of many years of discussion by various groups that have researched the development of MAN – through the stages from “babies to blokes”. The cnference is aimed at making a beginning on a major shift in men’s culture, which is seen as a necessary step to improving the well-being of the whole community. Keynote speakers will lead the discussions followed by other speakers and workshop leaders whose presentations will lead to outcomes that will have an impact on future action.
The conference aims to produce a comprehensive policy framework for meeting the needs of men and boys over the balance of this decade. It plans to make specific recommendations for Australian government at all levels and for all organisations that deal with men and boys, whether they be employers, service providers or health professionals. Input from delegates will be invited. The program is both relevant and exciting, with a wide range of options for all people working with men and/or boys.
