Description Editor and moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, Tim Russert, will be the second speaker of the series. He is scheduled to speak Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. presented at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tulsa. Following the presentation will be a luncheon from 12 noon – 1:15 p.m. His topic will be “A View From Washington.” Russert has been the anchor of Meet the Press, the most watched Sunday morning interview program in America and the most quoted news program in the world since 1991. Now in its 59th year, Meet the Press is the longest-running program in the history of television. Russert has interviewed every major figure on the American political scene. His is also a two-time New York Times bestselling author, a “Father of the Year” award winner, and has been dubbed the best and most influential journalist in Washington. The Washington Post has credited him with coining the phrase “red state” and “blue state” to explain the nation’s political divide. In 2005, he became an Emmy award winner for his role in the coverage of the funeral of President Reagan.
Additional Information — Tim Russert, Managing editor and moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press; Malcom Gladwell, author of the books Blink and Tipping Point; and Mark John Hofmeister, President of Shell Oil Company, have been selected as speakers for the 2006-2007 Tulsa Business Forums.

The series features nationally known business leaders who share their views and philosophies with Tulsa’s business community. The series is sponsored by the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University and its corporate partners and coordinated by the OSU Center for Executive and Professional Development (CEPD).
