COURSE OBJECTIVES
After participating in this course, you will be able to:
• Recognize the roles of epidemiology and genetics in inflammatory bowel disease.
• Review recent developments in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and the current role of immunomodulatory agents.
• Discuss the management of acute, severe, and/or refractory ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
• Assess the latest surgical approaches to Crohn’s disease including peri-anal complications and current surgery options for ulcerative colitis including the management of pouchitis.
• Identify evolving concepts and future trends in our overall understanding and management of inflammatory bowel disease.
