| Description |
The conference will be of interest to practice-based scholars, education researchers, academic developers, as well as higher education managers and administrators. It will build on the First International iPED Conference 2006: Pedagogic Research and Academic Identities; and aims to provide further opportunities for networking, academic exchange and friendly discussion.
A growth in third-stream activities is blurring previous boundaries between teaching and research, and bringing many academic staff and students into closer contact with the world beyond the academy. Increasing concerns over globalisation, sustainability and ethical practice make it timely to review conceptions of academic work and the capabilities that sustain it. They also make it ever more important to ensure that those who support the development of academic expertise and students' learning experiences are appropriately equipped and positioned to do so.
