Consumer driven health care is already having a substantial effect throughout the health care system. As it grows, providers will need to readjust their business practices and procedures to deal with a new population of well-informed, financially-empowered customers who will demand convenience, accountability, and improved performance. Providers will also have to understand a wider array of financing mechanisms, rather than just dealing with insurance plans. It’s a whole new era of competition. Some will prosper, while others will fail. We can’t yet know exactly how it will all play out, but Greg Scandlen will look at some early indications and issues that are already apparent, in his presentation Consumer Driven Health Care: Wider Effects.
Mr. Lovett's presentation, How to Achieve Success in a Consumer Driven Health Care Environment: Provider Strategies in 2007 and Beyond, will provide an update on consumer driven health care trends with a particular focus on physician and hospital tiering. You will learn about how providers are reacting as well as the short and long-term strategies they are adopting in response to these trends.
