Description

This workshop will explore the recent reserach on autism spectrum disorders and the implications for prognosis and treatment. Professionals will gain an understanding of the core deficits of ASDs and how to implement a new generation of appropriate compensation and remediation strateiges in the school setting. Emphasis will be placed on strategies that promote the development of active thinking and participation in students all along the spectrum. This workshop is appropriate for staff members with no experience with autism as well as those with extensive experience. Participants will receive a variety of handouts and tools that can be implemented immediately.
