The 16th International Chromosome Conference, which will be organized in the RAI Conference Centre, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 25-29 August 2007. It will be the 17th meeting of a long standing tradition of international conferences on general chromosome research that began in Oxford, 1964 as an initiative of the late C.D. Darlington.

Conference venue will be accommodated in the modern RAI conference centre, nearby many hotels and the attractive centre of the city and less than 20 minutes from the International Amsterdam airport.

The Conference aims at bringing together the most recent topics on fundamental chromosome research, merging and comparing sophisticated technologies and results from all major eukaryotic models, such as human, yeast, Drosophila, Arabidopsis, Caenorhabditis, and stimulating novel ideas for future research. Special attention will be paid to novel aspects on nuclear structure, chromatin organization and epigenetics, and the role of chromosome and chromatin research modern society and education.

The Conference includes 16 workshops on all chromosome and chromatin topics, scheduled in a tight program of five days including the weekend. Lectures take place in only one or two parallel sessions, and ample room will be reserved for poster presentations and company boots.

Further information on the conference is on this website and will regularly be updated. For receiving automatic alerts please write to.

We hope to welcome you on the 25th of August 2007!
