Exhibitors at the 50-UP Expo know that it is essential to count the over-50 population as part of their target market.
The problem has always been getting in front of that market with a message that appeals to them specifically. 50-UP'ers are a savvy group that don't relate to gimmick advertising, fads, cute jingles, guilt marketing, or high pressure tactics. In fact, such things often make them go away.
There are three basic functions going on at
all 50-UP Expos:
1) Exhibitor floor - meet and greet prospect clients, show off your wares and services, and deliver the unique messages that will bring you business in this mature and savvy crowd.
2) Entertainment - Providing market specific entertainment not only improves attendance, it increases how long people stay and their impression of the quality of the expo. Instead of leaving when arms and legs tire, attendees can go be entertained and then come back for more. This means more visitors with added time to ponder and a more relaxed atmosphere.
3) American Legends - As American Idol has shown us, people love to perform and there's quite a bit of undiscovered talent out there. This love for music, entertainment and being on stage isn't just for 20-somethings. We love it too. Add to that some great prizes, and the fun of cheering on your favorite performer, and American Legends is the perfect tool to bring even more people to the 50-UP Expo.
Benefit Sponsor: A portion of booth proceeds will go to support meal programs of Mecklenburg, Gaston, Cabarrus, & Union counties
