Nationally, 87% of college students live off campus. This is an opportunity for your campus to go beyond the campus zipcode and address the commuter challenges. We will discover several faces of commuter students and share best practices. Whether your commuter population is small or large, learn how a commuter program will increase the retention of your students. Who is the Speaker? Joy Vergara is the Assistant Director of the Office of Student Life at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. She was responsible for development and implementation of the DePaul commuter program, as well as currently providing the strategic plan for commuter initiatives. She has restructured the commuter student organization and was able to centralize commuter information. She earned her M. Ed in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University of Chicago.
