The Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) is organising egov India 2007 conference at Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi from 31 July – 03 August, 2007, in association with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, as part of the eIndia 2007conference. The conference will have multi-stakeholder participation involving governments, industry associations, civil society organizations and research and academic institutions from India, South Asia and beyond.

The egov India 2007 Conference intends to assess the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) implementation in India. The plan launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India is a comprehensive programme designed to leverage the capabilities of ICT to promote good governance across the country. The conference will focus on the Mission Mode Projects envisaged in NeGP from 3 different angles: G2G, G2B and G2C. Some of these include: Common Services Centres; Customs; Central Excise; National ID Card; Land Records; Municipal e-Government; Police Department; e-Procurement; Transport; Registration Services; and so forth.The implementation process, successes, failures, key issues and future plans will be discussed through panel discussions, workshops and presentations of case studies and best practices.
Besides this, the conference will also cover wide range of topics such as:

Network and Information Security
International Case Studies
