GLOBALIZATION: OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES
Conference will examine the impact of globalization on the world market and the opportunities globalization creates for the world economy. The global marketplace increasingly is becoming a reality and success of firms is normally driven by global strategy. The conference offers an opportunity for researchers, policy makers and industry practitioners from across the globe to engage in a constructive dialogue on globalization and emerging issues. The conference program is designed to offer a mix of research papers, presentations including case studies, invited lectures and roundtable/panel discussions.
RESEARCH PAPERS/CASE STUDIES ARE INVITED FROM
• Researchers including students from educational institutions and universities in India and Abroad
• Professionals including executives, practitioners and consultants from industry in India and Abroad
• Policy makers, professional bodies and associations.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
• The deadline for submission of full papers is October 1, 2007. Names of authors, their addresses (postal and email), and phone/fax numbers should be indicated. Only electronic submission in the form of a word file or PDF file as an e-mail attachment is required to be sent to the Conference Conveners at email@example.com.
• Papers submitted to the conference will be blind reviewed. Selected papers will be eligible for publication in the conference proceedings provided at least one author registers for the conference by November 1, 2007.
PAPER PRESENTATION IN ABSENTIA
Those who cannot come to the conference, but wish to present a paper in absentia are encouraged to send in full paper by October 1, 2007. Such papers, if fit the conference theme and volume, could as an exception, be included in the conference proceedings. A processing fee of US $ 50 (Rs. 500 for scholars in India) should be included for each paper submitted for presentation in absentia.
BEST PAPER AWARDS
Outstanding paper awards will be given to best papers, one in each of the three categories viz., research, conceptual and student categories presented at the conference.
For Indian Participants/Delegates:
• Rs 2500 Academia from Institutions within India
• Rs 1000 Students from Institutions within India
• Rs 3500 Corporate from India
For Foreign Participants/Delegates: US$ 200 or equivalent in Indian Rupees.
All participants attending the conference are required to register for the conference by November 1, 2007. Participants who will register after this deadline will be required to pay an additional amount of Rs. 500 in case of Indian registrations and US$ 50 in case of foreign registrations.
The registration fee includes admission to all technical sessions, tea breaks, lunches (December 27-29, 2007), the welcome reception dinner and other social events. The participants are welcome to bring guests. A nominal guest registration fee of Rs. 1000/- will include lunches (December 27-29, 2007), the welcome reception dinner and other social events.
Accomodation will be provided at certain University and Institute Hostels at a nominal rate. In addition, there are a good number of hotels available in Ahmedabad. We are negotiating rates with some of the hotels and information will be available shortly.
INVITED PRESENTATIONS / PLENARY SESSIONS
The conference would have invited presentations on major themes by eminent personalities. Also, the plenary sessions will be chaired/conducted by experts in the respective fields.
