The past decade has seen a dramatic transformation in the energy sector with a gradual, but steady movement from a state-owned, monopolistic industry to a liberalised and competitive sector based on free-market principles.

Delivering competitive, liberalised energy markets will be a key component in ensuring reliable and affordable energy supplies, as well as in delivering sustainable prices.

A main challenge facing today’s policymakers is how to channel commitment to energy efficiency into specific policies and to ensure that political will is doubled by adequate financial and human resources.

Renewable energy sources as alternative to the conventional power generation industry are constantly growing in importance across the region. During the working sessions of the Summit we will try to understand how to best integrate renewable power generation into companies’ existing electricity portfolio.

The 3rd Emerging Europe Energy Summit provides the audience with independent analysis and insights on the changing dynamics of emerging European energy markets. It offers decision makers clear and comprehensive analysis on the future energy landscape and the challenges posed by the emerging competitive environment in emerging Europe.

Every year CEOs, Presidents, Board Members and Directors meet at this event to discuss key issues affecting the region, reveal strategies for the future, and plan for future challenges and opportunities.

Now, in its third year, Emerging Europe Energy Summit will bring together over 200 government officials and industry leaders, from the oil & gas and power markets in the Central, Eastern and Southern European countries.
