Cancer education plays a key role in the dissemination and implementation of cancer prevention, treatment and palliation through Innovative Interventions and Methods.
The AACE has an interdisciplinary membership from the world’s leading academic cancer and palliative care centers who are responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating cancer education.
Each year for 41 years, leaders in cancer education from the United States and abroad have gathered to share the results of their research, learn new education and research strategies, and keep abreast of developments in the field.
The overall goals of the 2007 meeting are:
Learn about innovative interventions and methods to successfully educate healthcare professionals and the public in the areas of:
Cancer Prevention: Risk factor reduction (such as smoking), screening, nutrition
Cancer Treatment: Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy
Supportive Cancer Care: Communication skills, growth factors and antiemetics, access to care and services
Palliative Cancer Care: Pain, symptom control and other issue management
Cancer Research: Basic, behavioral, and clinical
Develop new skills in the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of cancer education programs.
Identify sources of support for your education and research activities
Renew your sense of professional enthusiasm for the field.
