The 5th International Conference on Information Technology and Applications (ICITA 2008) will be held in Cairns, Australia from 23 to 26 June 2008. The conference is an annual event and is recognized as one of the major series of conferences in Information Technology (IT in short). ICITA continues to retain its tradition of high quality conference and will open up an opportunity for academics and industrial professionals worldwide to exchange their knowledge of the state-of-the-art research and development in information technology and applications, and to establish and extend professional networks. This conference addresses the importance that IT professionals stretch across narrowly defined subject areas and constantly acquire a global technical and social perspective. ICITA 2008 has offered such an opportunity to facilitate cross-disciplinary and social gatherings.

The conference site, Cairns, is the only place in the world with two adjoining world heritage treasures; the Great Barrier Reef and the Australia's Tropical Rainforest. Its International Airport combined with sophisticated infrastructure and friendly services makes Cairns a winning choice for this event. A visit to the Cairns for a meeting is the perfect opportunity for delegates to take in the vast natural beauty and attractions of this world-famous region. The region has all of the infrastructure needed to ensure delegates can explore in comfort and style and add even more great and unforgettable memories to their conference visit.

The purpose of ICITA 2008 is to provide a platform for academics and engineers in all Information Technology areas to meet, exchange ideas, and establish professional networks. It is a forum to focus on specific disciplinary research, as well as on multi-disciplinary studies. The uniqueness of ICITA is that it crosses narrowly defined subject areas and gathers researchers from not only technical areas, but also from other scientific areas.
