Our conference focus is what we are most passionate about:
student achievement. Our strands encompass this concept by addressing four crucial areas:
• Backstage Pass to Classroom Instruction: Orchestrating the perfect lesson requires the right script, crew, and props. Learn about putting all the pieces together to create the classroom your superstar students deserve. This strand provides workshops for teachers - by teachers. Learn about strategies for standards-based instructional design, student engagement, and innovative approaches to content-specific instruction. Workshops in this strand are sure to help you become an award winning teacher.
o Differentiated instructional strategies: Best practices in reading, math, science, and social studies
o Innovative approaches to standards-based instruction
o Working with special populations (English language learners, special education students, etc.)
o Strategies for engaging and motivating students
• Backstage Pass to Instructional Leadership: Being an award winning director requires effective strategies for managing the actors, crew, and negotiating with the studio. Make your directorial debut count and get the support of the entire school community. This strand explores the elements of effective instructional leadership and provides specific approaches and strategies for supporting your school and ensuring high-quality classroom instruction. Whether you're a school principal, district administrator, department/grade-level lead, or out-of-classroom support provider, these workshops will provide models of leadership as well as tips for ensuring success.
o Models of instructional leadership
o Building a positive school culture and climate
o Implementing a shared leadership model
o Effective professional development and teacher collaboration models
• Backstage Pass to Accountability (NCLB, state mandates, etc.): The paparazzi are clamoring to get pictures of what is happening in districts, schools, and classrooms. Give them your best shot by learning about how to ensure your school is meeting or exceeding local, state, and national expectations. This strand provides specific workshops about support models, legislative requirements, and strategies for working with your school to avoid, or get out of, mandated intervention.
o Evaluating school effectiveness
o Utilizing support mechanisms in struggling schools
o Data-Driven Decision Making
o Making No Child Left Behind work for your school
• Backstage Pass to Teacher Preparation and Support: Every performer needs an acting coach. Learn how to help new teachers not only find the right script, but make their debut performance Oscar worthy. This strand explores effective strategies for preparing and supporting a school's most valuable resource - teachers. Learn about innovative preparation programs, support models, and strategies for teacher retention.
o Models of teacher support
o Understanding teacher preparation and alternative route programs
o Effective practices for teacher retention
o Teacher evaluation to promote professional growth

…and much more.

As you register, you will be asked to provide us with information about what you’d like to see at the conference – to ensure you get exactly what you’re looking for.

We encourage you to attend this unique conference as it will offer educators three intensive days of enrichment, education, and entertainment that we know you cannot get anywhere else.

Moreover, we plan to treat you like a star from the moment you arrive at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel (located in the heart of Hollywood!) until the moment you leave.

Debbie Allen, one of the most versatile women in Hollywood is already scheduled to participate at our Red Carpet Dinner & Awards Spectacular Event along with students from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles.
