We invite researchers, irrespective of their institutional or geographical affiliation, to submit theoretical, applied, or policy-oriented research papers on any field in economics to our meeting. This second meeting of the Portuguese Economic Journal (http://www.springerlink.com/content/111060) is hosted by CEFAGE-UE and will be held in Evora in July 4-5 2008.

We are delighted to announce that Professor Jean-Michel Grandmont (CNRS, CREST), member of the Advisory Board of the Portuguese Economic Journal, has accepted to deliver a plenary lecture.

Opening date for submissions: November 1.
Deadline for submissions: April 1.
Decision on submissions: May 1.
Opening date for early registration: May 1.
Deadline for early registration at a reduced rate: May 31.
Deadline for registration for presenting authors: May 31.
Meeting: July 4-5.
*Submission guidelines*
Papers should be written in English. The title page should contain the following elements: name of the author(s), affiliation(s), presenter, address(es), email(s), title of the paper, abstract (up to 600 words), keywords and JEL classification codes.
Submissions can only be done through Conference Maker at the website http://editorialexpress.com/conference/pej2008/. Further information on the details of the submission process is available at that website. The address meetingspej@iseg.utl.pt can also be used for questions concerning the scientific program. All matters related to submissions and papers will be handled by the program chair.

Registration fees:
- early payment (before May 31): 125 €.
- late payment (after May 31): 150 €.
The registration fee entitles access to the meeting, a conference dinner, two conference lunches, coffee breaks and conference material. Travel and accommodation will not be provided.
