The Certificate Program in Meeting and Event Planning is a program designed for a beginner to intermediate meeting and event planners, as well as hoteliers and travel agents. Industry professionals will provide instruction on basic skills and concepts of the event and meeting program, such as needs assessment, contracts, and on-site management in addition to offering research on the latest trends and advancements. There will be an introduction to industry associations such as Meeting Professional International (MPI). With successful completion of this 60-hour program, students will be assisted in the pursuit of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential. This program will be offered simultaneously at both the Hampton Road and Blacksburg locations.
