The CBMTS-Industry V, "Fourth World Congress on Chemical, Biological and Radiological Terrorism", in coordination with the Croatian Ministry of Defense (CMOD) and the Croatian Organizing Committee, and under the auspices of the Government of Croatia, is very pleased to present this extremely important fifth meeting in the CBMTS-Industry series in Dubrovnik. This meeting, which provides a specific focus on the topic of chemical, biological, radiological (CBR) terrorism and anti-terrorism matters, is the 14th meeting in the CBMTS series. CBMTS-Industry V has been selected as the regional venue for the 10th anniversary of the coming into force (on 29 April 1997) of the Chemical Weapons Convention. This symposium will explore the scientific, medical and policy aspects, as well as the effects of terrorism, on the community and the individual and on each layer of infrastructure to include each echelon of government. We will build on the base of knowledge established during the first three World Congresses on CBR Terrorism.
A Pre-Congress Workshop on 14/15 April will examine issues across the spectrum of dual use and non-proliferation, including policy and ethics in research institutions and industry.
The Congress will feature the following sectors WMD Nonproliferation, Scientific and Technical Realities, Medical Treatment of CB Casualties, including those used to smuggle drugs, CBRNE Terrorism; Tactics, Methods, Targets, Commercial Infrastructure Security, Hazard and Consequence Management and Communications, Emerging Threats in CBR, including threats to and from the petrochemical industry from pipeline and procurement through production and distribution, and an exercise that includes equipment, material and institutional displays open to all sponsors.
