The World Nano-Economic Congress (WNEC) comes to the African continent
The WNEC-now in its ninth edition-comes to the African continent under the auspices of Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of South Africa, and examines the quickly developing nanotechnology initiatives in South Africa both in research and commercial ventures.
This rapid development is fueled in part by last year's launching of the South African National Nanotechnology Strategy, which earmarked R450 million ($61.6 million) to be spent on infrastructure and research over the next three years.
About WNEC South Africa
The WNEC South Africa 2007 is presented by the Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of South Africa and Cientifica --the world's leading supplier of nanotechnology information.
As with previous WNEC events, the WNEC South Africa aims at informing both international and local audiences of the impact of nanotechnologies on industries with an emphasis on the local industries where it is being held.
The WNEC South Africa will explore:
