Description -The event is made up of keynote conference sessions, interactive workshops run by leading best of breed vendors and a dynamic one-to-one meetings model that allows delegates to meet other delegates face to face to discuss key business challenges and share best practice.

-Delegates can choose to meet with other delegates or take pre-arranged meetings with a select group of leading vendors.

-The event attracted over 150 end-user delegates last year, and with 110 already confirmed this year, the European Supply Chain and Logistics Summit 2007 in May should see over 200 senior supply chain practioners in attendance.

-A select group of the world’s leading solution providers will also be on hand to share their thoughts on the challenges facing today’s supply chain and logistics directors, and provide answers to some key questions. These include Hewlett Packard and Maersk Logistics, our lead system integration and lead 3PL sponsors respectively, as well as a handful of other key partners such as JP Morgan, Avery Dennison, Vocollect, Geopost, 3M High Jump, The George Group and I2 covering issues spanning the length and breadth of the extended supply chain.

Oliver Sloane, Group Director Manufacturing Industries, WTG London Comments on the event:

In putting together the content for the European Supply Chain and Logistics (SCL) Summit, now in its 9th year, we’ve developed a programme that truly reflects the challenges and concerns of the SCM and Logistics community.

One of the main pressures that appears consistently across numerous industry verticals is the potential conflict between an on-demand supply network and the uninterrupted flow of goods to customers. Many of the supply chain directors who come to the summit talk of the pressure from board level to reduce inventory to a bare minimum, whilst maintaining availability and satisfying ever-fluctuating customer demand.

Running the SCL Summit over the last nine years, we have truly seen the development of the supply network. As the concept becomes a reality, with suppliers and customers co-opted as key stakeholders, the pressure exerted on both sides has significantly grown. The need to address the relationship between supplier, manufacturer and customer in a demand driven environment is the main emphasis behind the SCL Summit agenda. The 200 end-user delegates in attendance will hear from a selection of top-level speakers, like Michael Aguilar, EVP Consumer Electronics at Panasonic, who have successfully reduced inventory levels whilst maintaining service standards.

Complimentary to this general theme, cross-industry sessions on risk management, people in the supply chain and ethical sourcing will be combined with more vertically-focused streams and interactive workshops around specific solution areas. Every attendee will have a personalised itinerary created for them that allows them to maximise their time at the summit, selecting the sessions relevant to their business and choosing to meet one-on-one with fellow supply chain and logistics directors to share knowledge and experiences.

We are very excited about this year’s event and look forward to bringing everyone together in May for a hard-working but rewarding two days.
