Description INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON HYPERSPECTRAL REMOTE SENSING (HYPERS 2007)

Saturday, 17 November 2007
Universiti Malaya (UM)
Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA

Goal: This workshop aims to bring together researchers and other users who are interested in the application of hyperspectral remote sensing and field spectroscopy. It will be a forum of exchange of ideas and information, as well as to foster collaboration and cooperation between professionals interested in this field. In addition, a hands-on tutorial session will be conducted, if there is sufficient number of interested participants.

The 28th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (http://www.macres.gov.my/acrs2007) will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 12-16th November 2007, while the International Workshop on Earth Observation Small Satellites for Remote Sensing Applications will be held in Malaysia from 20-23 November 2007 (http://www.eoss2007.org/workshop.asp). This Hyperspectral Remote Sensing workshop is independent of these two conferences.

Topics
• Sensors and platform systems, including field spectroradiometers
• Spectral vegetation indices and data transformation
• Analytical techniques for hyperspectral data
• Enhancement and classification of hyperspectral imagery
• Application to forestry, agriculture, geology and mining, ecology, environmental and resource management, engineering, etc.
• Future developments in hyperspectral sensing and processing

Abstract Submission
Presenters are invited to submit abstracts (approx. 300 words) by 15th July 2007. Notification of acceptance will be on 30th July 2007. Abstracts should be submitted electronically to Dr. Helmi Zulhaidi Mohd Shafri at helmi@eng.upm.edu.my (cc: hzms04@gmail.com).
