The importance of joint global clinical trials in achieving simultaneous world-wide approvals is increasingly being recognized and must be reflected strategically in both the planning and implementation of new drug development programs. The 4th Multitrack Workshop will focus on this topic as a primary theme and speakers from industry and regulatory authorities (especially from Asian countries) will be invited to present and actively participate in meaningful discussions on this topic. The development of a strong foundation for clinical development and training of investigators in Japan is an important element of participating in global development which will also be discussed.
