We take great pleasure in inviting you to participate in a Three Day International Conference about to be organized by the Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Delhi from 7th -9th February 2008. We are organizing the International Conference to commemorate the 2550th Years of the Mahåparinibbåna of the Buddha and the Golden Jubilee Year of the Department of Buddhist Studies. The theme of the conference is “Sa¶gðtis (Councils): Perspective and Prospects”. The conference is expected to witness a gathering of around 100 eminent scholars of Buddhism from all over the world. On this occasion the Organizing Committee of the Conference has decided to publish our Departmental journal Volume XXXIV.
Knowing your special interest and expertise in Buddhism and its other aspects, we are pleased to invite you to kindly participate and also present a well researched paper in this proposed International Conference. The Organizing Committee of the Department has decided to publish its Departmental journal named Buddhist Studies volume XXXIV incorporating all the research papers of those participants who are supposed to read their paper in the proposed conference. We would like to request you to kindly send your research paper by the 30th September 2007, so that we can publish it on the time. Here, we would like to inform you that only those research papers will be incorporated in the Departmental journal which will be sent to us by 30th September 2007. So, kindly send us a hard and a soft copy (in a CD) of your paper within the deadline. The best three papers will be rewarded suitably on the last day of the conference. You may also send your soft copy of your research paper through email on my email Id i.e. bhante_satyapala@yahoo.com. We are also sending you the Format of the Research paper in which you are supposed to send your well research paper with diacritical marks if any.
We will send you the other details about the conference through another communication. We have high appreciation of your interest and research work in the field of Buddhism and request you to co-operate us by sending your consent for the participation in the proposed conference and also send your paper latest by 30th September, 2007. We are eagerly awaiting your prompt and positive response in this connection.
